The Roots is the most powerful postural flow within the Bowspring method. It is a Level 2 practice and is appropriate for students who possess sufficient working knowledge of the Bowspring fundamentals, including the Elemental Forms and the main poses within the Level 1 syllabus.
The Roots is the postural sequence which sparked the collaboration between Desi Springer and John Friend, subsequently leading to the founding of the Bowspring method in 2013.
This Roots Manual offers a detailed analysis of the Roots sequence with more than 230 photos and instructions for over 120 unique poses and forms. The Roots sequence is broken down into 8 “Katas” or specifically choreographed mini sequences. When these Katas are practiced in a 90-minute flow, a holistic and all-encompassing alchemical transformation ensues. The Roots practice reforms the body, enlivens the mind and inspires the soul as the healing impact of the Bowspring algorithm is myo-fascial, physiological, psycho-emotional, and spiritual.
